So this is where I tell you of how much I love fishing. Sure I love to talk about fishing, but most people just want to see the pictures. I am not a professional, I am a beginner. That doesn't mean I haven't been to some awesome places with some awesome people. I've been on trips where world records have been set (and I've gotten seasick!) and I've been alone, without a guide for an hour in the Joulters Keys in the Bahamas where I could hear the wind whistling through the wings of a bird flying overhead, with an atomic blue sky backdrop stalking bonefish with repeated casts in one of the most peaceful moments of my life.
The fishing Snob
So I tell people I am a fishing snob.
I started flyfishing - rather I purchased my first flyrod and reel in 2002. I thought I could tie knots and knew enought to get by. Not a chance. Now a bimini/huffnagle combo is second nature.
I met Steve Bailey as my first instructor on a dock at South Seas Resort on Sanibel Island Fl. It was a cold morning - 70 Deg. Steve was bundled up. I was in shorts.
bla bla bla
So now I mainly practice catch and release. Sure I'll keep an occational bluefish, striper or brookie in Idaho, and don't think I'll let a tuna get off in Bermuda, but Tarpon, redfish, bonefish, Atlantic Salmon, Cuts, browns, rainbow... see you guys another day.
